What is the difference between hypnotherapy and subliminal therapy recordings?
The subliminal recordings, known as the Mind Sight series, are non-hypnotic in their content, so the conscious ear cannot hear the wording. This means that you can play the Mind Sight series of recordings wherever and whenever you wish. This is what is called “passive listening”. The words can be heard, but only unconsciously. Subliminal messaging in the form of positive suggestions and affirmations, such as “I believe in myself” directed to the left and right brain hemispheres without conscious awareness, bypassing any critical, negative self-talk about those suggestions.

The hypnotic recordings, known as the Sleep Talk series, are designed to induce trance, which is a relaxed state and these recordings should only be listened to whilst relaxing or even sleeping and not whilst driving or operating machinery. You will be guided by Angela’s voice and although there are additional subliminal suggestions made to aid a speedy outcome for you, you will be able to consciously hear most of the words spoken. Again, both brain hemispheres are utilised when listening to these recordings, with a view to creating as much opportunity for desired change as possible.
Which are the best recordings for change, hypnotherapy or subliminal therapy recordings?
Both recording styles utilise left and right brain hemispheres. Hypnotherapy recordings require you to take a small amount of time to listen to whereas the subliminal therapy recordings can be listened to passively, anywhere, anytime. The advantage of hypnotherapy recordings is that they produce relaxation and often enhance sleep at nighttime as a result. The advantage of subliminal recordings is that they can fit into a busy lifestyle. Individuals may respond more rapidly to one type of recording than the other but overall it has been found that both types of therapy recordings are equally as effective.
What is hypnotherapy and how does it work?
Hypnotherapy is the process of using hypnosis within a therapeutic framework. Hypnosis is the process of creating an altered state of awareness which increases unconscious awareness. The unconscious mind is the part of you that stores your memories, is responsible for all behaviours, your emotions and runs the body. It is the highly intelligent and the creative part of you, where all your inner resources are accessed. When in a relaxed hypnotic state, the unconscious mind is receptive to suggestions and the imagination can create positive outcomes rapidly.
How does hypnosis bring about positive results?
The hypnotic recordings use progressive relaxation techniques. Whilst listening to the Sleep Talk recordings you will experience a drifting into relaxation both physically and mentally. This allows the conscious, thinking part of you to relax and even drift away, perhaps daydreaming. When your conscious mind relaxes it provides a gateway to your unconsciousness and at that point your unconscious mind becomes more receptive and responsive and welcomes the positive suggestions and visualisations on the recording. Whilst in this relaxed, creative, hypnotic state, Angela will give positive and “post hypnotic” suggestions. These are suggestions for positive behaviourial change, e.g. confidence, which are to be acted upon outside of that hypnotic state, whilst going about your everyday life.
What is the difference between hypnosis and hypnotherapy?
Hypnosis is the “state” a person is in whereas hypnotherapy is the use of hypnosis within a therapeutic application, e.g. for creating behavioural change such as increasing self confidence.
What does hypnosis or “trance” feel like?
As hypnosis is an altered state of awareness, each person may experience the hypnotic state in a different way. However, with therapeutic hypnosis the closest experience to that state has been likened to the stage between being awake and being asleep, where the conscious mind begins to wonder, in a relaxed and pleasant way.
Can anyone be hypnotised?
Everyone has the capacity to be hypnotised. As all hypnosis is self-hypnosis, that is, you hypnotise yourself by allowing yourself to follow Angela’s suggestions, you can only be hypnotised if you wish to be and allow yourself to experience that. It is not advisable to use hypnosis with anyone under the influence of drugs or alcohol, those diagnosed with a psychological illness such as multiple personality disorder or those with epilepsy. Please consult your doctor or GP before using these products if that is the case.
Will I remain in control whilst in hypnosis?
Yes. You are always in control. Anything that Angela suggests whilst using hypnosis is only taken onboard by you if you’re in full agreement with that suggestion. The same applies for the subliminal recordings – all subliminal suggestions are only taken onboard by you if you’re in full agreement with that suggestion, even if you can’t hear the suggestion consciously.
Will I be aware of what's going on during hypnosis?
Most people are aware of what’s happening during hypnosis, although you may not consciously remember every word or all the detail, which is common. Some people may fall asleep during hypnosis, as they are so relaxed. However, whichever suggestions are made by Angela, they are only acted upon by you if you are in agreement with those suggestions, whether you hear them consciously or not.
Will I get “stuck” in hypnosis?
No. Trance, or the hypnotic state, happens all day long – when you are driving, watching TV, reading a book – they are all forms of the hypnotic state. Quite naturally you go in and out of trance all day long. It is impossible to get “stuck” in hypnosis.
I’m not totally relaxed at the thought of being hypnotised, is this normal?
It is only natural to feel this way when you’ve not yet experienced hypnotherapy. However, please be assured that Angela’s relaxed way of working will ensure a relaxed and comfortable state for you to feel at ease in.
Is hypnotherapy anything like stage hypnosis?
No. Stage hypnosis is used for entertainment purposes and the audience taking part in that stage act is keen to be involved. As all hypnosis is self-hypnosis, it is not the stage hypnotist who “puts the volunteers into a trance”, but the volunteer themselves. Clinical hypnotherapy differs greatly from stage hypnosis as the Hypnotherapist is there to work to the client’s goals and not to the agenda of entertainment. Clinical hypnotherapy does not support nor promote the illusion that the Hypnotherapist possesses some kind of “magical” power. Moreover, the Hypnotherapist will promote the premise that the client is the one with the power to heal and help themselves.

Clinical hypnosis or hypnotherapy is used purely for the benefit of healing psychological and physiological problems, change behaviours and to achieve a more positive frame of mind. Clinical hypnotherapy has no connection to stage hypnosis. Angela views stage hypnosis to be an inappropriate use of the hypnotic state.
Does the depth of hypnosis vary and does it matter to the outcome?
The depth of hypnosis can vary from person to person. However, in Angela’s 13 years experience of working in the field of hypnotherapy, it does not affect the outcome. Furthermore, evidence has shown that the client will reach their own level of hypnotic state suitable for them in order to access inner resources to overcome the issues being worked on and reach their goals.
How are the hypnotic Sleep Talk recordings made and what are the features?
The Sleep Talk recordings are made from multi-layered hypnotic tracks which include hypnotic music, additional sound effects and Angela’s soothing voice, which can be heard at the conscious level . In addition to these tracks, there are subliminal tracks which can be heard at the unconscious level, giving the listener many positive, powerful and nurturing suggestions at the unconscious level for maximum change. Sound effects and music have been recorded at 60 bpm and are designed to stimulate left and right brain creativity which in turn creates a very receptive state for the listener. This deeply relaxed state helps you absorb suggestions and affirmations at the unconscious level to reach your goal.

With Sleep Talk recordings you will be “guided” into relaxation and it is important to remember that you will be in complete control at all times and if you wish to open your eyes at any point, you can, and feel fully alert. If you fall asleep whilst listening to the Sleep Talk recording your unconscious mind will still “hear” the positive suggestions. Whilst listening to these recordings you will often hear Angela speaking on more than one track at a time. This helps overload the conscious mind and distract it thus making the unconscious suggestion more powerful for positive effect. Recordings also contain NLP (neuro linguistic programming) techniques alongside creative visualisation. These recordings are recorded professionally using the very latest in digital technology.
I am a busy person and don’t have time to actively listen to the recordings. What should I do?
Angela recognises the pressures of today’s busy life and the time limits this brings. The Mind Sight subliminal series is designed for this client in mind. As Mind Sight is for passive listening, requiring no concentration or time set aside to listen, it can fit beautifully into one’s hectic life.
What is subliminal therapy and will I hear the wording?
Subliminal therapy is where the words spoken by Angela cannot be heard by the conscious ear but by the unconscious ear. For example, there are many sounds around you in everyday life, even as we speak, which you have either phased out consciously so you aren’t “consciously” aware of them, or they are above or below the conscious range of normal hearing, so that, although they are there, you can’t consciously recognise them.

The left and right brain hemispheres are utilised when listening to the Mind Sight series. The left brain is the logical, rational and critical brain, also known as the conscious mind, and to this brain positive suggestions of the permissive kind are made. Permissive suggestions include suggestions such as “it is possible for me to succeed” whereas the right brain, the creative, unconscious mind, is delivered suggestions of the direct kind, such as “I can and will succeed”.
How are the Mind Sight subliminal recordings made and what are the features?
The Mind Sight recordings are made using pleasant music or the sounds of nature. At the unconscious level, out of conscious listening, you will “hear” several tracks, all containing positive suggestions to help you achieve your outcome. These recordings are not hypnotic but are what we call “passive listening”, meaning the listener can go about their daily life with these tracks playing in the background. All recordings are professionally recorded using the very latest in digital technology.
How do subliminal suggestions work?
You have 2 brains, the left and the right hemispheres, or the conscious and the unconscious. A subliminal recording is designed to have you “hear” suggestions by Angela at the unconscious level so that the conscious mind isn’t taken up with the thought and there is no conscious processing, making it easier for you to go about your daily business whilst letting the unconscious part of you carry out those suggestions.

All suggestions are ethical and positive and guide you towards the outcome you desire, which should be the outcome of the title of the audio recording purchased, e.g. confidence, stop smoking, etc. All wording of subliminal suggestions can be found with purchases of CDs and downloads. It is suggested that you read the suggestions made now and again so that the mind recognises those directions.
Why use subliminal recordings?
Angela’s subliminal Mind Sight series enables you to achieve personal change without having to take time out of your busy day to actively listen to the recordings. They can be used anywhere and anytime as they are not hypnotic.
How can I find the wording of subliminal suggestions on the recordings?
All wording of subliminal suggestions can be found with purchases of CDs and downloads.
How long are the recordings?
The length of each recording varies. The hypnotic Sleep Talk range will often have 2 tracks. During the first track Angela will talk about the topic of the recording, for example, confidence or insomnia, and, if appropriate, share with you conscious NLP techniques (neuro linguistic programming) in order to overcome the problem and enhance a speedier outcome. The first track usually last between 10 and 25 minutes depending on the recording topic and track two, which is the hypnotic recording, will usually last between 20 and 30 minutes.

The Mind Sight recordings have two tracks. The first is a short introduction on how to use the recording and the second is the subliminal track with either gentle music or sounds of nature and these usually last for 30 to 60 minutes.
When should I listen to the recordings?
It is suggested that you listen to the hypnotic Sleep Talk recordings when you have time to sit or lay down and relax. Do not listen to the Sleep Talk recordings whilst driving or operating machinery. As most people today don’t have much spare time, you may listen to your Sleep Talk recording at bedtime. If you find you fall into a deep sleep that’s ok as your unconscious “ear” will still be listening, taking the positive suggestions onboard. It is important that you are not unnecessarily disturbed whilst listening to the Sleep Talk range, so find a time when you can rest, relax and let go. As the Sleep Talk range is deeply relaxing, you might find benefit in setting aside “you” time to listen during the day or early evening, in addition to the evening listening as there are many benefits from just taking the time out to relax and unwind whilst listening.

You can listen to the subliminal Mind Sight recordings at anytime and anywhere as they are not hypnotic but subliminal. These recordings have been made with the busy person in mind. There is no need to listen consciously or to pay attention to the recording as they are designed to be “heard” by the “unconscious ear” thus providing you with passive listening. You can even listen to these recordings whilst going to sleep at night. Equally you can listen to them whilst driving, operating machinery and working. Anytime infact.
What if I fall asleep during the recording?
Sometimes, whilst listening to the hypnotic Sleep Talk range of recordings one may feel so relaxed one falls into sleep. This is perfectly ok and may infact be beneficial in that the unconscious mind can still hear the suggestions Angela makes but the conscious mind, asleep, doesn’t interfere. Sometimes clients think they’ve fallen asleep but, infact, have been in a hypnotic trance, which is similar to sleep sometimes. This too is desirable and makes no difference to the outcome of the recordings. If you fall asleep during the Mind Sight recording, this too if perfectly ok and still effective.
How quickly should I notice change?
The speed at which change is registered consciously and tangibly with each client may vary according to the outcome desired and the history of the “issue” for you. However, it has been shown that, when the conscious mind has made a decision to change and you take action by listening to the hypnotic or subliminal recordings, change can occur rapidly. Most clients have shown that change can occur within days of listening to these recordings and Angela recommends that you listen to the recordings for a minimum of 21 days and thereafter whenever desired or warranted.

Most people will benefit from these recordings. However, some people would benefit from one-to-one therapy to work through issues that perhaps require longer term therapy. These recordings are not designed to replace one-to-one therapy for such people.
What is the difference between seeing Angela in person and using the recordings?
Sometimes, if a person has a complicated behavioural problem or complicated personal history which needs professional one-to-one attention, it is advisable to seek personal therapy and you may wish to contact Angela to find out more. One-to-one therapy will provide an avenue for clients to address issues in an interactive setting with Angela. Some clients prefer working with a therapist rather than with a recording no matter what the issue is. However, most habits, goals and less deep-rooted issues can be helped with the use of the Mind Sight and Sleep Talk products.
Who should NOT listen to these recordings?
Anyone who has been diagnosed with a psychological disorder, such as schizophrenia or multiple-personality disorder, or the medical condition epilepsy, should seek their doctor’s advice before using these products. You should not listen to these recordings under the influence of illegal drugs or alcohol.
Can I listen to more than one recording in a day or a week?
Although it is perfectly ok to listen to a variety of recordings within a day, week or month, Angela would suggest setting yourself defined goals so as not to overwhelm yourself with targets. For example, if you lack confidence, it would be perfectly advisable to listen to the recordings Plug Into Your Confidence alongside the Weight Loss recording should that be appropriate but, however, if you decided you wanted more confidence, wanted to shed weight, stop smoking, overcome a phobia and banish insomnia all at the same time, this might seem like a mountain to climb for you and it is best advised that you set individual or dual goals, rather than work on all your goals all at once! This will make your achievements easier in the long run as you gain confidence and self-belief. When you then feel ready and confident, you can then move on to target your next goal.
Can I combine the hypnotic and subliminal recordings to achieve my goal?
Yes. It is perfectly advisable to combine the use of both types of recordings. For example, you can listen to the hypnotic version of Plug Into Your Confidence as you retire at night and, during the day, listen to the subliminal version of that recording, perhaps whilst in your car or cooking dinner, as background music.
What happens if I listen for longer than the recommended timeframe of 21 days?
By listening the recordings over and beyond the recommended minimum timeframe for change, you will only be embedding the new changes and behaviours you desire to make. There is no limit to the amount of time or frequency you can listen to the recordings.
I’ve had a look at the list of conditions treated but don’t see my goal or problem there, what should I do?
